We’re arguing for two things:
- The ANC government has caused the energy crisis and has proven itself unfit to fix it. We are asking the court to appoint an independent expert who South Africans can trust to oversee, evaluate, monitor and report on the implementation of the plan to fix the electricity crisis.
- The national energy regulator, which is running with the 30% electricity price hike, has not taken steps to protect the poor. They must go back to the drawing board and ask South Africans what they can afford, making provision for subsidies.
This court case is important for every single South African.
